My family surprised me yesterday with a trip to California to see the Mariposa Grove of Redwoods. What a wonderful day of hiking together and taking pictures.

The Grizzly Giant is one of the largest trees in the Grove. It is estimated to be 1,800 years old. It's huge limbs are up to 7 ft. in diameter. Pictured below is the Grizzly Giant. It is so huge I could not get the whole tree in one shot. All I want for Christmas this year is a great camera!

A amazing healing power plant is the horsetail. It is abundant in many parts of the World where there is water. Be it a creek, stream, lake or pond. Gather the stalks up and dry.
